A Summers Evening On the Quad

The Summer on the Quad Team are delighted to announce that this year our special guest will be Brian Kennedy.  One of Ireland’s great singers who has also represented Ireland in Eurovision we are very excited to have him join the Garda band again this year.

The rain threatened to spoil the planned evenings entertainment Friday night in UCC for the long anticipated concert by Rebecca Storm and the Garda band.  However the fears were unfounded and the torrential showers of the day ceased near the beginning of the evening of music and a cool calm evening of excellent song and music unfolded.

Aided by Fiona Murphy and the Garda band Rebecca sang a range of classics for the audience and every song was greeted by rapturous applause.

The evening itself was organised flawlessly and praise must be given to all the organisers and sponsors for what is an excellent venue with superb sound in the historic grounds of the Quad in UCC.

Visitors Parking

Visitor car parking is available at Perrott’s Inch and Perrott Avenue car parks (hourly charge) and at Brookfield Health Science Complex (pay & display).

Visitors who are unable to obtain parking on the campus are requested to pay due regard to the access needs of the residents in the area surrounding the campus. Most of the on-street parking in this area is controlled by prepaid disc parking. Pay parking is available at Perrott Avenue, Perrott’s Inch and Brookfield car parks.

As the weather forecast is not great it may be best to use public transport or taxis to get to the concert.

Buses

City buses: from the city centre, board a No. 8 (marked ‘Bishopstown’, about every 15 minutes) and ask to get off at Gaol Cross. Or board a No. 5 (marked ‘Rossa Avenue’), and ask to get off at College Road .

This July UCC Security and Community policing are delighted to present Rebecca Storm in a fabulous event in UCC’s grounds.  Supported by the excellent Garda band this is a not be missed event of you and all the family in a special location.  A Summers Evening on he Quad should be a special musical occasion for all the  family.
